Great Lakes Minerals, LLC (GLM), an American owned, privately held corporation, is a leading processor of alumina-based industrial minerals used as raw materials in the refractory and abrasive industries. GLM’s process includes crushing and sizing, packaging, and warehousing various industrial minerals.
Alumina Based Minerals
The primary alumina based minerals processed by GLM include refractory grade bauxite and brown fused aluminum oxide (BFA). GLM company headquarters and plant operations are located in Wurtland, Kentucky, strategically positioned on the Ohio River, allowing GLM to take advantage of the direct access for proper handling of feedstock from barge to plant.
State of the Art Technology
GLM utilizes state of the art processing technology making it one of the most efficient producers in the industry. GLM’s quality systems are modeled after ANSI/ASQC C1 1996 “General Requirements for a Quality Program”. The Company’s management team has a significant number of years in the industrial minerals industry with the core senior managers operating the plant since its startup.
